The Newton Center for Affect Regulation provides training and case consultation for clinicians seeking to learn more about regulation theory and Regulation Therapy.
Dr. Newton provides training for childcare staff serving as secondary attachments for children. She currently serves as a consultation to the SAY San Diego Extended Day Childcare programs and is teaching the graduate level course on the Theories and Approaches to Emotional Regulation in Childcare Settings in San Diego State University, Department of Child & Family Development's groundbreaking certificated Early Childhood Socioemotional & Behavior Regulation Intervention Specialist (EC-SEBRIS) program for childcare staff.
Upcoming Training Program in Regulation Therapy opening September 2012
The Newton Center for Affect Regulation will open a clinical training program in Regulation Therapy in September 2012. Dr. Newton is the originator and developer of Regulation Therapy, a brain-based therapy focused on attachment, affect regulation, and developmental theories. Regulation Therapy is designed to increase emotional security, growth and happiness in children, adults, couples, and families of all ages.
Licensed or supervised for licensing mental health clinicians (MFT, LCSW, Ph.D., Psy.D., M.D. psychiatry) can apply for Parts A (Basic Knowledge), B (Applied Interventions), and C (Practicum Experience) training. Licensed or supervised for licensing support disciplines (speech & language, occupational (OT) and physical (PT) therapists, pediatricians, childcare staff) can apply for Parts A and C training.
